Ledbury Town travelled to Brierley on Saturday with a much- reduced squad.

BRIERLEY AND HAGLEY 0, LEDBURY TOWN 3

With several players forced to play out of position, a good all-round performance was given.

Youngster Pat Locke and brothers Martin and Richard Punt played superbly throughout, with Oliver Thompson marshalling the back-line with authority.

The first 45 minutes was an even affair with opportunities at either end but Craig Humphries, in the Ledbury goal, refused to be beaten.

The deadlock was broken on 43 minutes when Richard Punt's low cross was bravely met by Lee Hooper inside the six yard box to steer it home. Unfortunately for Ledbury, Lee was unable to start the second-half after sustaining an injury in scoring and he was replaced by sole substitute Sean McKeon.

Five minutes into the second-half, Ledbury's lead was doubled when Robbie Colwell worked his way to the edge of the box and unleashed an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner.

Ledbury's third goal came courtesy of Stuart Hall and Mark Brookes' midfield battling to release Robbie Colwell to blast home from eight yards.

Sean McKeon nearly made it four with a sublime piece of skill to flat-foot the defence, only for his 20-yard drive to fly just wide of the upright.

Craig Humphries kept a clean sheet after producing a superb save from Richard Perry's penalty late on and Ledbury returned home three goals and three points to the good.

Tomorrow (Saturday), Ledbury Town are away at Pelsall Villa (2.45) and on Tuesday (April 26), they visit Dudley Town (7.45).
