Ledbury Town lost 2-1 to champions Tipton after extra-time in the West Midlands League Premier Division Cup final.
The fourth-placed underdogs fought bravely at Wolverhampton Casuals and grabbed a half-time lead through Stuart Hall's thumping 22-yard free-kick, after Robbie Colwell had been brought down.
Tipton found Ledbury keeper, man-of-the-match Craig Humphries, in stunning form but he was happy to see a Langford thunderbolt rebound off a post and a Smith spot-kick go wide.
Sean McKeon and Colwell were unlucky with chances before Humphries was finally beaten on 73 minutes, as Tipton sub Ade Baddams crashed home a 20 yard free-kick to take the tie into extra-time.
Ledbury, managed by caretaker boss Ian Colwell, fell behind on 105 minutes when Tipton's leading goalscorer, Luke Reynolds, converted a Dave Robins' cross.
Ledbury chairman Chris Stephens said: "We were a bit unlucky and our preparations were hit by traffic problems, arriving only 30 minutes before kick-off. But I'm proud of the team, we matched Tipton in all departments and may have won on another night."
