TWO grandmothers are planning to take to the roads and paths of Herefordshire.
Beryl Griffiths, aged 65, and her two Finnish Lapphounds Rudi and Fritz will be in the county as part of a 600-mile epic walk.
She is stepping out from Lowestoft to St David's Head with the objective of raising £60,000 to help dying children.
If all goes well she will reach to the county on Tuesday, June 28, and one week later will leave Hay-on-Wye to continue into Wales.
Her support motor home will be parked in Ledbury and Hay-on-Wye during her perambulations through the county.
Also striding out in a good cause will be 57-year-old Pamela Gregory. She is running a marathon a day to raise money for Dogs for the Disabled, a charity that provides specially trained dogs to help people with a range of disabilities.
Pamela is following the route of the historic Welsh drovers and will cover 26 miles each day for 10 days. She is due to arrive in Hereford from Winforton on Monday, June 20, and set off the following day for Gloucester
