SCHOOLCHILDREN and office workers are being urged to shun the car for pedal power as part of a nationwide campaign to get people cycling.
Herefordshire Council's Highways and Transportation is supporting this year's Bike Week, which runs this week.
Events include a charity bikeathon and a family fun bike ride in Hereford and a cycle to work day in Rotherwas.
Herefordshire Bike Week kicked off with a bikeathon at Bishop's Meadow on Sunday for Leukaemia Research.
As part of Bike2Work Week, which runs in partnership with Bike Week, staff at Rotherwas Industrial Estate were offered a free breakfast from Picadish, on Netherwood Road, if they cycled to work. A cycling group will also complete a route around the city as part of a family event tomorrow (Friday).
