STROLLERS continued their unbeaten start to their Flint & Cook marches League division five season with a win at early pace-setters Ewyas Harold.
EWYAS HAROLD v STROLLERS
The home side posted a decent target of 185 from their 45 overs, which looked unlikely when they were 56-2 from the first 26 overs. Some loose bowling from the visitors allowed Harold to score 129 runs in the final 19 overs.
Harold captain Phil Brookes led the charge with 59 runs (6x4, 2x6) and was well supported by Madders in a third wicket partnership of 77. Mark Powell was the pick of the Strollers bowling, picking up 3-26 from his 12 overs, the first spell of seven overs only going for three runs.
Despite the loss of their openers early on, Strollers were always comfortably within the required run rate. Mark Powell and James Powell blasted quick fire innings of 20 and 30 respectively, but it was Rob Bentley-Taylor who gave a backbone to the reply with his first half-century of the season. His knock included 12 fours.
After opening bowler Brian Pilner had finished his spell of 12 overs, the home side showed little resistance.
Simon Albright wrapped up victory with a huge six over long on to finish on 43no (3x4, 2x6).
