THE status quo will be retained for Herefordshire clubs in the GLS Hellenic League next season.

Pegasus Juniors will remain in the Premier Division after overcoming a poor start to the last campaign to finish comfortably clear of the relegation zone.

And Ross Town will continue to play in Division 1 West after a lower-mid-table finish in a season which saw their squad dogged by injuries.

But, in contrast to the city club who are set to kick-off the new season in brand-new surroundings at Old School Lane, the Ross club are still in search of a major sponsor which would ensure their ability to take part in the Hellenic League.

"There is a lot of travelling involved in the Hellenic League," said chairman Geoff Jones. "It costs around £16,000 to run the club for a season and we need to alert people to that fact.

"It's probably about a day's pay for Rio Ferdinand."

If Ross were forced to leave the Hellenic League, it would affect their prospects of being able to apply for a Football Foundation grant.

"The disastrous consequence of that would be that the Sports Centre development would not have a chance to take place," said Jones. "And that would have a detrimental effect on not only the football club but on Ross Cricket Club, Ross Rugby Club, the other existing and potential users of the centre and sport in general in the town."

The GLS Hellenic League will line up as follows for the coming season:
