MATTHEW Faucher and Jamie Robinson came out on top during the men's doubles wheelchair tennis exhibition at the prestigious Stella Artois Championships at Queen's Club, West London.
Faucher - Herefordshire's Disabled Sportsperson of the Year in 2003 who now lives in Caerphilly - and British number two Robinson won two close sets against Athens Paralympian Kevin Plowman (Yorkshire) and Paul Simmons (Cleveland), the reigning national champions.
The first set was played out as a full tie-break set and the second set played as a super tie-break.
After 50 minutes on Court 10, Faucher and Robinson secured the advantage 6-3, 13-11.
The four players, all ranked inside the world's top 100, were once again warmly received as they provided a foretaste of what is to come at The Championships this year, where a first ever men's doubles wheelchair tournament at Wimbledon will take place over the finals weekend of July 2-3.
Later in July, they will be among those contesting the British Open Championships at Nottingham from July 26-31.
