TERRITORIAL Army soldiers more than doubled their fund-raising target when they went running for a Herefordshire charity.
The team from Hereford-based E Company Recce Platoon ran the six-mile Muddy Woody Run in their combats and army boots to raise £2,458 for St Michael's Hospice.
Team leader Sgt Scott Hayward had a personal reason for helping the cause.
"My partner Donna's father died a year ago and the care and support he received at the hospice while he was ill was absolutely outstanding," he said.
"St Michael's was also a great source of support to the family as well and I wanted to express my gratitude."
Lyn Gummer, from the Hospice, said: "We are extremely grateful and we would like to thank the TA for having put in so much effort to raise this generous sum of money, which is essential to the continuing work of the hospice."
The soldiers are now in training for the 30-mile Black Mountain Challenge in aid of the Blind Association.
