NEXT Monday morning, a group of 11 motorcyclists will be revving up in High Town, eager to be on the road for this year's trip to one of Hereford's two twin towns.
Not so much Hell's Angels as Hospice Angels, the group used a trip to the city's French twin, Vierzon, to raise £12,000 for St Michael's Hospice.
This year's ride is another fund-raiser for the hospice, but those taking part hope that it will also raise Hereford's awareness of its twins across the Channel as well.
Writing to the Hereford Times earlier this year, Twinning Association member and motorcyclist Mike Pullin made a plea to Herefordshire Council "to see that the lack of recognition on our 'Welcome to Hereford' signs is an insult to people who visit regularly".
Supporters and dignitaries, including the Mayor, Marcelle Lloyd-Hayes, will be on hand to wave the bikers off. They will be in High Town from 10am until their estimated departure time of 11am.
Anyone wishing to pledge support should contact Mr Pullin on 01981 240544.
