THIS was the sixth game of the season and the first quarter was fast and furious, with Magpies taking control of the game.
MAGPIES 33, KEYSTONES 37
Shooters Kim Robinson (GA) and Liz Farr (GS) had some excellent efforts and the quarter ended 8-4.
Half-time told a different story with the visitors keeping possession and making it difficult for the defence of Niki Brandreth (GD) and Claire Marsh (GK) to intercept. The quarter ended 18-13 to Keystones.
The third quarter saw Cheryl Evans go to GA and Liz Far to WA and with Keystones being forced into mistakes, the quarter ended 28-21 to Keystones.
In the last quarter Magpies tried to keep possession of the ball with captain Jackie Dixon playing a hard game in centre court with Wendy Robinson (WD). It brought the scores closer, but not quite enough as Magpies lost 33-37.
Player of the match was Kim Robinson.
