A LARGE audience enjoyed Music for a Summer Evening held last Saturday evening at St James's Church Colwall.
Philomusica, from Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, performed St Nicholas' Mass by Haydn and Faure's Requiem. Other items included arias by Mendelssohn and Handel. Wine and biscuits were served during the evening. All proceeds will go to support Christian Aid.
A 'Send a Cow' coffee morning will be held on Saturday, June 18 from 10.30am-12.30pm at Trillevallen Colwall Green. Proceeds will go towards training African subsistence farmers (often orphans or widows) in animal care and sustainable organic farming and giving them suitable livestock.
In return, the farmers pass on their animals' first female offspring (and so on, ad infinitum).
Frog racing will be held in the village hall on Saturday, June 25. A fun evening for all the family. Be an owner, jockey and winner. Adult £4 (£1 under 16). For reservations phone 540601. Proceeds to the Conservative Party.
