Eastnor marched on to the area final of the national Village Championship after pushing Colwall aside with a six wicket win in the 34th over.
EASTNOR v COLWALL
Batting first, Colwall made a good start with 66 runs for the loss of their first wicket. Tom Wolfendale batted throughout the Colwall innings to score 96no. Mark Panniers (49), David Powell (33), along with Jordan Kontarines (11), helped Colwall reach 214-6 from 40 overs. For Eastnor, Ishtiaq bowled well taking four wickets.
In reply, Eastnor had Jabran depart early but Adeel, who is in great form with the bat at the moment, hit a fine 50 and, along with Arshad (31), they built a fine base by scoring at a fast rate. Shahid (41no) was well supported by Ishtiaq, hitting a hard unbeaten 48, to see Eastnor to victory with six overs to spare.
EASTNOR v BEWDLEY
EASTNOR firsts had the better of Bewdley on Saturday with Bewdley holding out for a losing draw.
Batting first, Eastnor made a good start by adding 82 runs before the loss of their first wicket. Adeel batted well for 78, Shahid (35), Tommy Hurrell (16no), along with runs from D Baker (10), Jabran (28) and Steve Fortey (11), helped Eastnor reach 202 all out in the 50th over. For Bewdley, S Mauger took 4-46 and J Boult 3-60.
Bewdley, in reply, only had three batsmen reach double figures, S Mauger (54), R Combes (29) and M Hudson (15) were helped with 24 extras, seeing Bewdley hold on at 155-9 from 50 overs.
Eastnor's J Sandford took 4-39 and Jabran 2-25.
