n Actor Corin Redgrave, who was due to rename Bromyard's playing fields tomorrow, (Saturday,) has had a heart attack. Mr Redgrave, 65, collapsed on Wednesday. His condition was yesterday described as stable but critical.

Bromyard Town Council spokesman, Liam McKenna, said: "The ceremony is still going ahead, and other members of the Redgrave family were due to attend, but we're waiting to hear what they intend to do."

n Two windows at a house in Firs Orchard, Bromyard, were smashed between Wednesday and Thursday, June 1 and 2. Vandals also tried to remove a stone statue from the garden of a house in Hardwick Close between June 2 and 3. Anyone with information about either incident should call 08457 444888.

n Nautical fun takes place with a family treasure trail at the Brockhampton Estate, near Bromyard, on Sunday (June 12), from noon to 4pm. The event is part of the Sea Britain 2005 campaign, marking the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. The trail costs £2.
