A SERVICE was held at Stoke Lacy to celebrate the remarkable loyalty of Betty Arnett, who has been playing the church organ for 60 years.
The Rev. Michael Smith said Mrs Arnett had been pressed into service as a young teenager and 60 years on she was still playing every week and "has never let us down".
Mrs Arnett also plays the church organ at Ullingswick and the piano for the village choir.
"Fortunately for Stoke Lacy, retirement is not in her mind," said John Caiger, of the parochial church council.
