Eastnor thirds had a convincing 90-run victory over Hereford seconds in this Flint & Cooke Marches division five match.

Put in to bat, 15 runs were added by the villagers before Hitchings was caught for 13. Dave Goodman was adjudged lbw at 39 before Ralph Tyler and Adam McTear added 60 runs for the third wicket, finally broken by Miller who had Tyler stumped for 37. McTear was also lbw for a fine 51 (ten 4s) at 128 when skipper John Taylor (23) and James Febery (21) added 42 vital runs to take the total on to 170. Swain and Cotton then took two wickets each as Eastnor lost their last four batsmen for just ten runs.

Cliff Tipton and Rod Jarrett gave the home side a good start, claiming three wickets in ten overs for 29 runs at the tea interval.

A Jones (27) batted on well, only to fall to Tipton at 49. Two wickets from Nick Haggar and three from Taylor, aided by two Dave Goodman catches, saw the city side finally succumb all out for 90, Dave Thomas (17) batted well at the end.

Tomorrow (Saturday), Eastnor Thirds travel to Almeley.
