CANON Frome travelled to Garnons, looking to recover from their mauling the previous week by Talgarth's overseas players, and having won the toss invited the home side to bat.
GARNONS v CANON FROME
Openers John Andrews and Alan Jones got them away to a solid start before both were removed by Andy Rogers following a switch of ends. The total had, however, reached 100 by this time and Frome were somewhat on the back foot.
The 33rd over proved successful for the visitors as Chris Styles sent down a double wicket maiden, trapping Bendall and Pugh both lbw. This was to be the final success for the visitors as Johnson and Griffiths pushed the total up to 246-4 by the end of the innings.
Frome's weakened batting line up needed to get off to a solid start but it was not to be as Dan Watkins was bowled without scoring. Chris Styles and Andy Rogers took the score up to 30 before Styles top edged a hook to fine leg, falling for eight.
A procession of wickets followed as Rogers (19), Rhod Mence (4), Richard Wood (2) and Chris Frost (5) all fell to catches as Frome found themselves six wickets down for 53. Marcus Wrinch stroked five boundaries to top score with 25.
Stuart Davies faced four balls for his 12 runs but with Harry Orgee (2) and Andy Lloyd (0) falling cheaply, Frome's innings ended on 99 all out, Smith remaining two not out.
