FOOTBALL CLUB DRAW - In Presteigne St Andrews Football Club prize draw the winners were: 1, £100 (donated by the committee) Adrian Underhill, 2, two tickets for Sheep Music (Sheep Music committee) Mrs Matthews, Presteigne, and 3, two tickets to see Atomic Jones, won by Adrian and Sally. Fourth prize was a bottle of champagne won by Steph Furnell, 5, a bottle of whisky, Paul Charles, 6, a meat voucher donated by Carini butcher Presteigne, Steve Morgan, 7, a bottle of Martini, Tony Field.
MEMORIAL HALL - The annual meeting was postponed from Wednesday June 1 until Wednesday June 22 at 7pm in the hall. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
CHURCH LUNCH- St Michael's and All Angels church are holding their annual lunch and walk at the village hall in Lingen on Saturday from 12.30pm onwards. All are welcome and the cost is £8 for adults and £2.50 for children. Booking is advisable on 01544 267385 or 01544 267202.
NURSERY AND GARDENS - Whimble nursery and gardens are now open until October daily from 10.30am-5.30pm but closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The nursery and gardens are at Kinnerton in the Radnor Valley between New Radnor and Presteigne on the B4372. Admission to the gardens is £1.50 and you can also walk in the meadow and visit the toposcope. Home-made refreshments are available. More details are available from 01547 560413.
100 CLUB - The winners of Presteigne St Andrews Football Club 100 club draw for the month of May were Cynthia Hughes £100, William Nattress £50, Ken Vaughan £40, Doug and Jo Preece £30, Paz Clee £25, Phil Jones (Flabian).The next draw is on Friday, June 24, in the Royal Oak.
GARDENS - Mr James Weymouth would like to invite members of the public to his gardens at Upper Tan House, Stansbatch, which is two miles south of Presteigne. The gardens will be open on Sunday from 2pm-5pm. Admission is £2.50 and dogs are not permitted.
