FESTIVAL - Diary of events: Saturday, Kington Primary School are holding a mini fayre and fun run at 2pm. Wheelbarrow race night starts at 6.30pm.
Enter the children's novelty race, the adults three-legged race and the various wheelbarrow races for cash prizes. An open-air supper will be available after the prize giving.
Next Wednesday, an evening of anecdotes and images for Kington-based charity Art Aid with Ronald Swanwick, the Burton Hotel at 7.30pm. Tickets available from the Burton Hotel, Ralph Higgs, Kington Pet Supplies and the Stable Studios. Telephone 01544 230871 for further inquiries.

Saturday, June 18, Carnival and Gala Day, the grand finale of festival starts with the Mardi Gras Carnival Procession that leaves The Meads at 1.45pm and proceeds through the town to the Recreation Ground.
The gala continues with a multitude of displays, workshops, music and dance for all the family.
Sunday, June 19, Friends of St Mary's Church are holding a barbecue at Gravel Hill House, Kington by permission of Mr and Mrs I Waugh, 12-3pm, £4 for adults, £2.50 children. Contact 01544 230392.
