GROUP PARISH COUNCIL - Information regarding the annual audit is on the notice boards. The inspection notice is on view from June 2 to 30. The freight lorry aid container will be on Sharples' Yard, by kind permission of Miss Jean Sharples from 11am until 1pm on Saturday, June 25.

When the annual general meeting was held in May, Mr Alan Watkins was chairman, with the main business being to elect the chairman and officers.

Mr Watkins stood down after three years service, for which he was thanked. Mr Clive Skelton was elected chairman and Mr K Goodman, vice chairman.

The planning committee for Eardisley is Mr G Doody, Mrs M Fitness, Mr J Hawes, Mr A Preece and Mr P Whittall.

TENNIS CLUB - A highly successful coffee morning, held in the Curzon Herrick Hall raised £370. The organisers are grateful to everyone who supported this event. The proceeds will go towards the cost of the mini tennis court which is currently under construction.

WOMEN'S INSTITUTE - Two resolutions put forward at the last WI meeting were carried unanimously. The first was relating to care of the environment and the second to farm gate milk prices and the unfair difference between the retail prices of milk and the price paid to the farmer.

The next meeting is today (Thursday) when Penny Platts will be speaking on the subject of country churches. The competition is a photograph or picture of a local church.

YFC - Eardisley YFC are having a Cheese and Wine Antiques Valuation Evening on Sunday at 6.30pm in a marquee at the Stowe Farm, Whitney-on-Wye by permission of Mr L Price and family.

A valuation expert will be in attendance and is bringing along 20 antiques which he has already valued.
