MEDIADEV, the development arm for new media appended to Hereford-based Rural Media Company (RMC) has ground to a halt with the demise of its European funding on March 31.
"Approaches were made to Advantage West Midlands and the Learning Skills Council in the hope that further funding could be obtained," said development office for the project Stephen Broadfield.
"Although many people have stated that the initiative had been a success and was worth continuing, no organisation wishes to financially support such activity."
An application for funding to Screen West Midlands, which had been most vocal in insisting that MediaDev continue, was also unsuccessful.
Future MediaDev activity will occur as and when specific projects are identified for which individual funding can be obtained - as with the Seed Broadcast project.
Meanwhile Stephen, who has fronted the project during its two-and-a-half year lifespan, has been maintaining a minimum level of activity on a voluntary basis
