WHILE some of the best of Britain's livestock will be at the Three Counties Show at Malvern next week, the annual event will also be staging a variety of rural attractions such as hunting, shooting, fishing and gun dog scurry.
One of the family attractions will be Ted Clydesdale, the loveable gentle giant of a cart horse now immortalised as the lead character in a fast-selling children's book.
Ted is to make a guest appearance at the show, being staged from June 17-19.
Ted's owner, Sally Oultram, author of The Story of Ted, has entered her Clydesdale in the heavy horse section.
Ted, who is soon to star in a feature film about his life, will be parading in the main arena on the Sunday, the last day of the show, in the Rare Breeds section.
Sally bought Ted at an auction seven years ago and nursed him back to health.
Equestrian entries in general are extremely good with those for heavy horses having reached record levels.
There is a new heavy horse village with three in-hand classes for all breeds and heavy horse obstacle driving.
Main arena entertainment includes the grand parade of livestock, the Red Devils parachute team, the White Helmets motorcycle display team and dog agility.
