HEREFORDSHIRE Women's South Western League campaign has seen mixed fortunes with two defeats and one win from three recent matches.
In spite of winning in three of the six rinks and drawing on one of the others, Hereford-shire still suffered a defeat by Wiltshire at Brimfield, home of this year's president, Jill Baldwin.
The following match against Worcestershire produced only one rink win as the county lost by 31 shots overall.
Herefordshire returned to winning ways, however, in a hotly-contested match against Somerset which produced a nine-shot success.
Herefordshire, who had been 35 shots ahead at the end of 10 ends, shared rink honours at three each.
Today (Thursday), Hereford-shire meet Dorset in the Walker Cup, a national two-rink competition, on a neutral green in Devizes.
The two Herefordshire rinks are Thelma Watts, Olive Goodwin, Joan Jones and skip Val Pedlingham, and Pat Hoffman, Audrey Cade, Barbara Griffiths and skip Doreen Herbert.
Next Tuesday, Herefordshire travel to Pershore to take on Gloucestershire in the Johns Trophy, a national six-rink competition.
