PUPILS at Marden Primary School received some help in their quest to repair their garden pond from the Hereford Round Table.
The children desperately needed a new pond liner to replace the 13-year-old existing one which had perished through time and left nothing but a dry derelict mess.
Marden youngsters David Gardner and Joshua Lewis felt so strongly about the project, they wrote personal letters to the Round Table in a fund-raising bid.
And their pleas were answered by the charity group's community service liaison officer, Jon Fennessy, who promptly brought a new liner to the village school.
The new material is the best available and with a 35-year guarantee, should keep the pond full of water for generations to come.
School headteacher Maggie Newton said all that was needed now were a few fit parents to help lay the new liner.
