A TEAM of volunteers gave Colwall a sprucing up in the annual spring clean organised by the village society.
Around 20 people gave up a morning to pick up litter on Saturday (March 20).
Lis Kirkness, secretary of Colwall Village Society, said: "We do it once a year for the bits that are difficult to get to that aren't usually reached by the council.
"I think the village is in a pretty good state altogether. The Conservators do their bit near the hills and the parish council has a bloke going round. We try and cover areas off the beaten track."
Ms Kirkness said she was impressed with the number of volunteers, who managed to collect 23 bin bags of litter between them.
"There's a lot going on in Colwall, there's a lot of community spirit," she said.
