POLICE are calling for people in Ledbury town centre to park sensibly, following complaints that vehicles are being parked on the zig-zag lines by Homend pedestrian crossing.
Parish officer Mark Read believes such selfish parking is posing a real safety hazard for pedestrians, because their view could be obstructed while they cross.
He said: "I've had concerns raised to me by local people that someone is going to get knocked over a result of dangerous and illegal parking in areas where there are zig-zags.
"Parking on zig-zagged areas is an offence and anyone doing so will be liable to a £60 fine and three points on their driving licence.
"All we ask is that vehicle owners park responsibly in designated car parks or on-road parking areas. If they don't, officers will be taking action."
