Bromyard Town 2 Dudley Town 2
MATCH referee Neil Radford considered postponing this West Midlands League Premier Division clash because of the violent winds but eventually allowed the match to proceed, a decision justified as the teams, helped by sympathetic refereeing, produced an entertaining game.
Bromyard played just one up front and got plenty of players behind the ball as they faced the gale. They defended well but goalkeeper Dean Smith had no chance when the visitors broke quickly with their striker skilfully turning defender Paul Webb before finishing with a crisp strike.
Reverting to a more attacking formation after the break, Bromyard levelled when Chris Allen collected a deft flick from Andy Crowther's free-kick to drill the ball home.
Recent signing Ted Bayliss bagged his first goal for Bromyard after collecting a through ball from the outstanding Mark Russell but, although continuing to press, Bromyard could not extend their lead.
With time running out, former England and Aston Villa star Mark Walters waltzed through the home defence to set up a late equaliser and grab a share of the points for Dudley.
