A NEW council tax reform group formed by 'senior citizens' has met in Hereford.
Ten people attended the inaugural gathering of the Hereford group of the national 'isitfair' campaign.
The group was formed after a letter by Trish Metcalf in the Hereford Times called for the older generation's voice to be heard on council tax issues.
Trish wrote: "The worm is about to turn because the pensioners of today are not the pipe and slippers brigade - but are a product of the 'swinging 60s' who will not sit quietly."
Consequently, according to Trish, a hippie, a mod, a rocker and a beatnik attended!
The group's main agenda is to get council tax increases in line with inflation.
"This is not a political issue - but one of accountability from the council and social justice for all council tax payers."
Anyone interested in the group or attending any future meetings can contact Trish by emailing her at trish@shelwick. freeserve.co.uk
