ROAD SCHEME - A major scheme to provide a bypass for Talgarth and Bronllys would cost £11 million, Powys highways committee heard. Departmental chief John Owen said the county council would contribute £1 million towards the project. Committee members also learned that transport grant funding for Powys from the Welsh Assembly Government would be spent.
Part of this money would be used to introduce a two-hourly bus service between Brecon and Newtown.
