A Hereford community is joining forces with Police and other agencies to make their area a safer place in which to live.
Members of the Community Safety Partnership have organised a scheme in the battle against anti-social behaviour in the South Wye area of Hereford. It is called 'South Wye Community Watch' and will result in 'Community Watch' signs being placed in the area.
The scheme is being led by the police in conjunction with Haywood High School, whose pupils have designed the 'Community Watch' signs.
It follows Operation Blue, a two-day force operation, in which police raided a number of addresses in the South Wye area and made arrests for alleged drug-related offences.
The police operation was the biggest in Herefordshire for 20 years, intelligence-led and took a year in planning.
Sgt Phil Edwards, of Herefordshire Police's community safety unit, said: "The aim of Community Watch is to remind anyone living in or visiting South Wye that they are entering an area where the community will not tolerate any form of anti-social behaviour."
