CLAY throwing, poetry writing and music making were among the activities enjoyed by pupils at a Colwall school.
The Elms School held its annual arts festival last weekend, which this year had a jazz theme.
Children's author Heather Buchanan, writer and illustrated of George and Matilda Mouse books, spoke about her work and encouraged pupils to create their own characters.
Eastnor Pottery's Jon Williams demonstrated pot throwing and London-based poet Asida performed, before giving pupils the chance to write their own poems.
A drama workshop also took place and four-piece band, The Thundering Grundons, from Malvern College, got pupils dancing.
Deputy head David Pearce said: "The main thing was the children had a fantastically entertaining weekend and hidden underneath it all was that they learned quite a lot. The workshops were brilliant and there were smiles on everyone's faces."
