Hereford United must make a defensive re-shuffle for Saturday's potentially-tough Nationwide Conference visit of fellow promotion-chasers Accrington Stanley.
The Bulls' central defensive trio of Tony James, Andy Tretton and Tamika Mkandawire has been instrumental in keeping three clean sheets as United have picked nine points out of nine with wins over Dagenham & Redbridge, Telford United and Northwich Victoria.
But Mkandawire has picked up a one-match ban for receiving five cautions and Hereford director of football Graham Turner may give recent signing from Northampton Town Tom Smith a chance in his place.
Simon Travis and Danny Williams, who both missed last Saturday's game due to injury are hopeful of recovering for the visit of Accrington and if both are available Turner would also have the option of switching Ryan Green into a central defensive role and recalling Travis at right wing-back.
Accrington, who are themselves challenging for a play-off spot, are likely to provide tough opposition and will be seeking a double over the Bulls after winning the November encounter at the Crown Ground 2-0.
Meanwhile, the ins and outs have continued at Edgar Street with young defender Richard Teesdale departing for a month's loan with Dr Martens Premier League side Moor Green. Teesdale lined up alongside former Bulls favourite Rob Elmes on Saturday as Moor Green went down 1-0 to title challengers Nuneaton Borough.
Joining the staff at Edgar Street on a short-term deal is French midfielder Bertrand Cozic.
The 25-year-old, who played for Team Bath in their memorable FA Cup run last term and started this season with Cheltenham Town, has signed until the end of the campaign.
Next Tuesday at Edgar Street, United will be looking to maintain their grip on the Herefordshire Senior Cup when they entertain Forest Green Rovers in the invitation cup final, kick-off 7.45pm.
United beat Swansea City 2-1 when the cup was last contested two seasons ago.
