Worcestershire North 0 Hereford 2
HEREFORD won their final West Midlands Schools under-14 league match to stake a claim for a semi-final place but must now await the outcome of other matches which will decide the league placings.
The home side were unlucky with a shot which came back off a post but Hereford went on to establish control with Adam Bendle out of luck with a free-kick which flew just over.
Hereford led at the interval, however, after a Craig Jones free-kick which found the net via the underside of the bar.
The visitors defended superbly in the second period with goalkeeper Danny Hill rarely in the action and after Boibby Terrett had gone close with a good effort, Hereford's overall dominance was rewarded in the closing stages when Ashley Preece headed home a perfectly-placed Steve Smith cross.
