Kidlington 0 Ross Town 2
THIS away victory saw Ross Town climb into second place in the Hellenic League Division 1 West, eight points behind pacemakers Purton with two games in hand.
Ross started at a cracking pace and in the first three minutes David Skipp shot inches wide, while Ian Price headed over the bar.
Kidlington then came more into the game and it became end-to-end soccer with Adam Williams, sweeper Tom Phillips and Dylan Blenkinsopp defending well for Ross, although Luke Holden, the division's leading scorer with 25 goals, was always a threat.
After the interval defences remained in command but Holden did break through to rattle Town's woodwork.
A scoreless draw looked in the offing until, with just two minutes left, Ross snatched victory. Skipp, who had shown a tremendous work rate, cut in and lobbed keeper Darren Mole. The keeper got his fingers to the ball but could not prevent it crossing the line.
Thirty seconds later the South Herefordshire club were two up. Keeper Rich Newman's long clearance deceived Kidlington's defence and Kevin McDonnell sneaked in to slot his shot into the far right-hand corner of the net.
l GOALS from Andrew Green, Leigh Hall and Kevin McDonnell looked set to give Ross victory at Cheltenham Saracens until Locke grabbed an equaliser two minutes from the end for the home side in a midweek match.
