Leominster enjoyed an excellent day in the West Clubs' Women's League Severn Division when they became the first team this season to beat Cheltenham 2nd, inflicting a crushing 5-1 reverse on the table-toppers.
The Cheltenham goalkeeper had an exceptional first half as Leominster pushed forward in numbers while at the other end, the home defence worked hard to keep Cheltenham at bay, only to be caught out by a quick attack shortly before the interval to allow the visitors to go in in front.
Leominster worked hard from the start of the second period and their efforts were rewarded after five minutes when they were awarded a penalty stroke which was converted by Caroline Hughes.
The goal gave the home side the confidence to press forward and Hughes quickly added a second, followed by a third from Laura Stubbs who converted a Karen Hackley cross.
Leominster goalkeeper Jo Rusling produced some good saves and Debbie Jones battled hard in defence to keep Cheltenham at bay and their efforts paid off when Hughes rounded the goalkeeper to complete her hat-trick.
Stubbs then added a fifth and Leominster held on for a comfortable win despite the late sending-off of Hackley.
Ross-on-Wye now face relegation problems after slumping to the foot of the table after a 6-3 reverse against the previous bottom club Bretforton 2nd.
Ross fell two goals behind in the first 10 minutes before Colette Brown received a pass from Kate Cameron following a corner to pull a goal back.
Shortly after the interval, Ross levelled the scores through Linda Davies and although the home side quickly regained the lead, a further goal from Brown brought Ross back on terms once again.
Bretforton, however, strengthened their side with some substitutions and pulled away in the closing stages.
Hereford remain comfortably in fourth place after Amy Crowley's first ever goal brought them a 2-1 success over Cheltenham Civil Service.
In a hard-fought encounter, Di Feely gave Hereford the lead before Cheltenham equalised before the interval with Hereford staying on level terms thanks to some solid defence and good goalkeeping by Sam Jones.
The good defensive work paid off in the second period when Crowley made a strong solo run on the right before firing in the winner.
Hereford 2nd clinched promotion from Severn Division with two games still remaining when they beat third-placed Shipton Oliffe 5-0 at home.
An early penalty from Dwyn Jones put the city side into the lead but Hereford then required some good defending from Nicky Thomas and Cath Mackintosh before extending their lead through Helen Lewis on the stroke of half time.
Hereford dominated the midfield after the break and their outstanding player, Cath Goodwin, received some reward for her good work when she fired in the third goal from wide on the left.
With Hereford now firmly in control, leading scorer Lisa Ferneyhough hit home her 19th goal of the season before Ruth Wynne rounded off the scoring in the closing stages.
Second-placed Colwall now look favourites to join Hereford 2nd in Severn 1 next season after beating St Gregory's 2-0.
Tenbury maintained their fine run of form when a hat-trick from Emma Hillhouse led them to convincing 5-0 success at Badsey in the Worcester Ladies League Division 1.
Tenbury took the lead in the early stages with a reverse sweep from Rachel Croxton following a short corner and Croxton's fine pass set up Abi Thomas for the second before the interval.
Hillhouse added the third before the interval and scored again in the second half when she turned in a centre from Amie Ewens with superb timing.
Jessica Preece then combined well with Croxton and Tina Bickley to set up the chance for Hillhouse to complete her treble in the closing stages, when Oli Linton had two further 'goals' disallowed.
A young Tenbury side put up a battling performance on Sunday before going down 2-1 at home to top-of-the-table Kington in the KBS League.
Good defence from Tenbury youngsters Steph Webb and Michele Neale helped to keep the Kington forwards at bay but the visitors took the lead midway through the first half thanks to a fine strike from a well-taken short corner.
Tenbury drew level when Alex Pritchard's perceptive pass allowed Thomas to cut through the Kington defence for an excellent solo goal before the league leaders clinched the match with a second half winner.
Amy Bywater and Gemma Davies showed impressive skill as Tenbury pressed in the closing stages but the winner eluded them.
