Methodists - The monthly new letter by Rev. Gordon Tonge gave some interested information. The Rev. Gordon Tonge is superintendent minister of Cwm Methodist Circuit and also chairman of Ewyas Harold Churches Together. He explained the special work done by many people and said how good it was that so many people were concerned with the project and wished to thank them for the supporting the Shoebox Appeal. In view of this, a film slide show will be held at the Ewyas Harold on Friday, March 19, at 7.30pm at the Ewyas Harold Methodist Church, where coffee will be served and a collection will be taken for this cause. The Rev. Tonge also mentioned that the chairman of the Birmingham District, Christina Le Moignan, will be speaking at a meeting to be held at Ewyas Harold Methodist Church on Sunday, March 28. The other circuit meeting will be held at Ploighfield Methodist Church, Preston on Wye, on Friday, April 2, at 7.30pm. At the last circuit meeting, it was resolved to give a majority of time to consideration of the future. Among issues to be addressed are decreasing membership and income.
MEMORIAL HALL - The Wedding Fayre held on Saturday, February 21, proved to be very successful. The arrangements and taking the various photo's was committee member Carol Jenkins, assisted by members of the hall and Young Farmers committees, both associations using the hall for their functions. The members of the Pontrilas WI who also use the hall for their events did the refreshments. The total of £500 was raised for this show, which included the money taken for the grand draw, organised by Chris Lloyd YFC. The show, between 11am and 4pm, attracted many people and thanks are due to all who supported it.
HALL COMMITTEE MEETING - This will be held on Tuesday, March 23.
HALL AVAILABILITY - The hall is available for letting purposes and some improvements have been made and others are in the pipeline.
