VILLAGE LOTTERY - The winning number in Saturdays' draw was 7. Liz Shears wins £25.

PARISH COUNCIL - A questionnaire was sent to all the households in the five villages that comprise the Bishopstone Group. The information from the questionnaire was analysed, then the parish council began to do something with the information gained and now we are seeing results happening. On Monday, work started on a new vehicle passing place in Bishopstone. Last week those persons who showed a preference for three of the Leisure Learning courses, computers, painting and T'ai Chi, were advised of the start date and where the course will be held. It is understood more courses will follow. The next parish council meeting will take place on Thursday, March 18, when a senior member of the Fire Brigade will give a short talk on the services they provide. Visitors are welcome to attend at the Lord Nelson Inn, Trafalgar Room starting at 7.30pm. A seat is available on the parish council to represent Bishopstone. Contact 590691 for further information.

WEST MERCIA Police - West Mercia Police have asked for assistance in raising awareness of people's rights when stopped by the police. They have produced a small, pocket-sized leaflet. There is one copy of the leaflet attached to Bishopstone Notice Board. Further information is on www.apa.police.uk

WILDLIFE WORKSHOPS - Wildlife workshops are available at Madley Environmental Study Centre, Madley, Hereford. They vary from hurdle-making to astronomy and from weekends to evenings. For all workshops, the majority of the time will be spent outside on the Nature Reserve. The first is Star Gazing which starts next Tuesday, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, and costs £3 plus each person. Hurdle-making starts on Saturday, March 20, and then in April there is Birding for Beginners and Going Bats in May, Wild Art and Fantastic
