BRAMPTON and Leintwardine cricket club flew out to South Africa last Friday for a five-match tour which will take in many of the famous tourist venues and a chance to play at a South African test ground.
They begin their cricket schedule with a match against Kelvin Grove, who play on a ground next to the famous Newlands test venue.
After a rest day sightseeing the Cape Peninsula, Simonstown Naval Base and Table mountain, they play their second match against Alma Marist.
The famous vineyards of Stellenbosch is the next stop on the touring schedule with visits to some top estates, an ostrich farm, show caves and a trip on the last steam train in the country.
Knysna Sports will be their third opponents before they move on to Port Elizabeth for the rest of their stay.
Here they will play two matches, the first at the renowned St Georges test venue, capable of accommodating 19,000 spectators.
After the final game of the tour they will visit the famous Addo Elephant National Park, take in a game drive, and then a guided walk through a private game reserve, before returning home.
