But you were not well advised on what or how these believers lived out their Christian experience. They are to be commended because they believe the Bible to be infallible. If it is not, what can we believe?
The Bible demands believers lives should be lived in a way that the word of God commands and expects.
I have sought to live a life of our Lord Jesus Christ for more than 50 years. During that time I have known a few folk who were members and had good fellowship and relationships with them, and some of them were not as tee-total as some of the other more major denominations. That's a matter for the individual: it's drunkenness the Bible does not quite licence.
