LEADERS Crackpots B had their second four point win of the season in the Brewin Dolphin Malvern Table Tennis League Division Three.
Ted Cates, Alan Forsdike and Stephen Lindner were the winning trio when they played Dynamos and only one set went beyond three games.
Third and fourth-placed teams, Nomads and Abbey College, had a close fought match with five sets needing four games and one needing five. Henry Chan for the College was unbeaten and Henry Hung won one singles and together they won the doubles. Tony Hughes and Geoff Davies won two each and Adrian Fray one for Nomads.
Crackpots C jumped up two places in the league to be second behind their club fellows by a margin of 82. Ed Palmer, of Crackpots, won all his three singles in both matches and teamed up with Richard Cullis, in winning both doubles. Richard won two in each match and so did Stan Ginn. For Allsorts Mark Griffiths won two and three of the sets went to four games.
The Abbeydowne match was much closer than the score suggests. Seven sets needed extra games and 14 games were won by only two points and another eight by three.
Bill Lucas was the successful Abbeydowne player.
RESULTS: Poolbrook Allsorts 2, Crackpots C 8; Crackpots B 10, Dukes Way Dynamos 0; CSSC Nomads 5, Abbey College 5; Abbeydowne 2, Crackpots C 8.
THE Brewin Dolphin Malvern Table Tennis League is holding its championships on Sunday at the Forum, Malvern Theatres, starting at 9am with the finals due at around 6pm. Spectators are welcome and refreshments will be available from 10am.
