Ledbury U16 girls visited Hereford Leisure Centre with a young side, due to holidays, to play the inexperienced Haywood team.

HAYWOOD 0, LEDBURY U16 GIRLS 11

Within minutes the experience of Sophie Wood started to show as she netted the first of her eight goals for the team. With the older players encouraging the younger, less experienced ones to get involved in the play, it became evident that Ledbury's experienced players would see them in good stead. With good runs through the middle by Michelle Plenderleith and Vickie Metcalfe, linking to Sophie, they managed to make the half time score 0-6.

The second half saw much of the same with Haywood putting up a fine battle. Ledbury's goalkeeper Sarah Entwistle saved the only shot made at her. Alice Wood remained strong at the back, for most of the game as the only defender, and Michelle Plenderleith was able to push up throughout the match to net three goals.
