The new year has begun, we long await to see the sun,
The clouds have shifted, the sky is clear,
And all the buds are beginning to appear,
The birds awaking to the warmth of the sun,
The building of nests has now begun,
The cuckoo will soon appear, it's call is known to be loud and clear,
The robins, wren and blackbird sing,
That is how we know its Spring.
New lambs are born, they skip and play,
In fresh green meadows every day,
We listen to the birds songs so sweet,
With scattered daises at our feet,
The trees with buds all curled and tight,
Will seem to blossom overnight,
The skies will lose their sad dull grey,
And turn to blue throughout the day,
The children sing skip and play,
We know that spring is here to stay,
Warmer days will soon be here,
And that will bring its own good cheer,
Daffodils, snowdrops soon show their face,
Pussy willow, sticky buds will be here with all their opening grace,
Coughs, colds and winter sneezes,
Yes, say goodbye to all those wheezes.
The trees will show their leafy dress,
The sun will give his sweet caress,
Our eyes lift up to the skies of blue,
And rainbows grace us with their hue,
The reds, the greens, the blues and yellow,
Speckled sunshine gold and mellow,
Crystal streams flow over grey pebbled shore, The winters gone, its Spring once more.
