Ledbury Seconds were at home to Bromyard for this Merit Table fixture and were feeling very confident after the last encounter when they won 36-0 and this was to be their main problem.
LEDBURY 2nd XV 17pts, BROMYARD 2nd XV 7pts
Straight from the start the visitors were under pressure pinned in their 22 but Ledbury could not get any points. However, when a clearance kick was scooped up by winger Will Green, Ledbury had their first points of the day, converted by Craig Price.
It wasn't long before Ledbury scored again, this time from centre Ben Green, playing for the first time for Ledbury 2nds alongside his brother Will. This time the conversion was missed.
From there on things went very wrong for the home side. It seemed that everyone thought it was going to be a walk-over and Ledbury stopped playing as a team and became a bunch of individuals all wanting the ball.
For the next 20 minutes Ledbury were camped on the Bromyard five metre line but nothing would go right, knock ons, players running into each other and general bad play saw Ledbury come away with nothing, in fact Bromyard made a fine break out and scored their only points of the afternoon.
At the break a stern talking to the team by skipper Chris Kitching intimated things would be brought back on track, but it was not to be, Ledbury continued to play probably their worst game of the season.
The only ray of hope was a fine line-out catch and drive that saw John Parry cross the line.
Ledbury Seconds are at home to Redditch tomorrow (Saturday), 2.30pm kick off, for another Merit Table game.
