A 32-year-old Gorsley man has pleaded guilty today to causing the death Newent's Amanda Hyett by dangerous driving.
Jason O'Brien, of Whitegates, Quarry Lane, admitted the charge when he appeared at Gloucester Crown Court on Friday.
Adjourning the case for a pre-sentence report, Judge Jamie Tabor QC told O'Brien it was likely he would be jailed.
"It's not easy to plead guilty to such a tragic and serious case," he said.
"A pre-sentence report will be prepared but unless there are wholly exceptional reasons there will only be one outcome."
O'Brien was bailed for sentence on March 12.
O'Brien was the driver of a BMW involved in a collision with Mrs Hyett's Toyota MR2 on the B4221 at Kilcot on October 20.
