Break-dancing is on the curriculum at Bosbury Primary School, with weekly lessons lined up for youngsters until the summer.
The first session took place with professional tutor Martin Young on Tuesday afternoon, and youngsters were taught the basics of street dancing and robotics, where the aim is to simulate robot movement.
Money for the sessions comes from a £60,000 extended schools grant, given by the Government to Herefordshire Council, to be used by local primary schools and the John Masefield High School.
Bosbury head Judie Toner said: "A qualified dance teacher will be coming in every Tuesday until July.
"I am all for diversity, and you never know what will spark off interest in a child. The aim is to make the children more active, so that they will be more fit."
