Kington Town 7 Wolverhampton United 0
KINGTON made amends for their lack of finishing power in the previous week's disappointing West Midlands League Premier Division home reversal against Lye when they hammered seven past struggling Wolverhampton United, striker Mark Davis bagging a hat-trick.
After a quiet start Kington came to life when the visiting goalkeeper could only parry a Dave Goode cross into the path of Davis who rifled home the opening goal.
Minutes later, the striker grabbed a second goal when he finished off good work by the industrious Lee Ferneyhough.
The game went to sleep until the final quarter when the introduction of Ben Chambers inspired Kington to a five-goal flurry.
He immediately went through the middle and won a penalty when he was bundled down in the box, Chris King converting, and then again opened up the Wolves defence to set up a goal for Matt Morris.
Davis bagged his hat-trick goal when he powered home a header from a Carl Morgan cross, and a 25-yard strike from Andy Clarke and a goal from Ferneyhough completed the rout.
