Wyre Forest Brintons 3 Leominster Town 0
LEOMINSTER'S recent run of good form and rise in the West Midlands League Division 1 South table was halted at Wyre Forest, the loss of goalkeeper Craig Brimmell at the break not helping matters.
The first half was evenly contested with Leominster playing some nice approach football but Dan Stack and Luke Jones were unable to finish when well placed.
A Leominster free-kick into the home box was cleared upfield and Wyre Forest broke quickly to catch the visitors out with a well-taken opening goal.
Brimmell was forced to retire at the break with a knee injury but his deputy Adie Evans could not be faulted for the second goal as Forest beat the off-side trap to extend the home lead. But the stand-in was directly involved with the third goal when he dropped a cross at the feet of the Forest striker who tapped in from close range.
Town did not stop trying and Gareth Davies almost grabbed a late consolation goal after being put through by Neil Bennett.
