Tividale 3 Ledbury Town 0
LEDBURY started brightly in their West Midlands League Premier Division clash at Tividale but fell away as the home side took over to dominate the midfield and close out the visitors.
Both teams showed a positive approach with plenty of early action at both ends. Ledbury went close to opening the scoring on two occasions when a fierce shot from Nick Welch flew inches wide and a snap shot from Robbie Colwell shaved the bar.
That was as close as Ledbury came as Tividale took a stranglehold on the midfield and dominated possession.
A poor throw-in by Ledbury gave the ball away to Wayne Aston who raced clear to fire past Dimitri Dimitrov and, on the stroke of half-time, Andy Price extended the lead with a close-range goal.
Ledbury tried to change the pattern of play after the interval but things did not work out, and when defender Chris Powell was dismissed any chance of getting back into the game disappeared.
The defence continued to work hard but John Clark made sure of a Tividale win with a third goal.
Ledbury Town Res 1 Bustleholme Res 1
LEDBURY remain one place off the bottom of the West Midlands League Division 1 South after being held to a draw by the team just above them in the table.
Bustleholme went in front on 29 minutes when their striker powered home an unstoppable shot from 10 yards after a defensive error, but the home side hit back strongly and were deservedly back on terms five minutes into the second period with a first-time volley from Chris Golding.
From there on, the pressure came almost exclusively from Ledbury but the visitors' nine-man defence succeeded in holding on for an important point.
