WELLINGTON narrowed the gap on leaders Fownhope to a single point at the top of the Hereford Times Here-fordshire League Prem-ier Division after a conclusive 5-0 success against visiting Weston.
Wellington's hero was youngster Ross Mac-Millan who scored four of the goals, two in each half.
MacMillan chased down a backpass to open the scoring on the quarter-hour and netted his second before the interval following a Mark Hole cross.
Weston had their moments but debutant goalkeeper Rob Smith kept them at bay with some good saves before MacMillan held off challenges from the visiting defence to complete his treble.
Joe Parker then added the fourth, heading in a cross from Steve Brotherwood before MacMillan rounded the goalkeeper to notch his fourth.
Westfields remain in contention in third place but finished with just nine players in their 1- 0 win at Ross United Services.
The visitors deployed an attacking formation and created plenty of chances for strikers Lee Mussell and Mark Mortlock in the first period but the best effort came from 16-year-old midfielder Carl Preece, whose 25-yarder flashed narrowly wide of a post.
After the break Westfields continued to press and were rewarded five minutes into the period when Richard Legdon found the net with a spectacular overhead kick.
The visitors came under pressure following the sendings-off of Preece and Wes Owen but sweeper Kevin Johnson held his defence firm to earn the win.
The defeat sends Services back into the division's bottom two after being overtaken by Pegasus who beat Lads Club 2-1 at Widemarsh Common.
Pegasus stormed into a two-goal interval lead through P Allum and A King before Lads Club staged a strong rally which almost brought them a points.
Gary Oughton pulled a goal back for the home side and Jason Fry was unlucky when a shot came back off the bar.
Then, in the closing stages, John Buchanan almost levelled following a goalmouth scramble but his effort was kicked off the line.
Lads Club now fall behind Woofferton into sixth place after the villagers came away rom Leominster with a 3-0 win.
Woofferton attacked from the outset and took the lead within the first five minutes when Leominster only half-cleared a corner and a powerful shot from the edge of the box defeated Rob Williams in the home goal.
A foul by Neil Ellis allowed Woofferton to extend their lead from the penalty spot shortly afterwards but the villagers then missed a good chance to make the game safe by hitting a second penalty high over the bar.
Leominster drew some heart from this miss and attacked strongly but they were unable to break through. In the end it was Woofferton who found the net again, a strong cross-shot sealing the points.
Woofferton's win means they close the gap on fourth-placed Ewyas Harold who are still strong title contenders despite only claiming a 2-2 draw at Hinton.
Matthew Ingram went close to opening the scoring in the first minute but Hinton fought back and took the lead though Matt Ferriday who fired home from the edge of the box after John Jenkins had won a tackle.
Harold were on level terms, however, just before the break when Pete Lamb stroked the ball into the net from the edge of the box and the villagers looked to have sealed the points when Lamb found Ingram who beat a defender before lashing the ball into the bottom corner.
But Hinton were not finished and earned their draw when Steve Whitford let fly from 25 yards to level the scores in memorable fashion.
