A STRONG second-half showing brought Kington a comfortable 4-0 win over Bishops Castle in the KBS Mid Wales League on artificial turf at Llandrindod Wells.
Kington made a slow start and were grateful for Karon Jones' good defending which helped to keep the match goalless at the interval.
But an impressive opening to the second period saw Alex Watson open the scoring within five minutes of the re-start and Karen Stephens and Sherrie Gore added to the tally shortly afterwards.
Catherine Jones scored a deserved fourth goal after a fine pass from Sian Morgan.
Tenbury gave an opportunity to some of their new, young players but still continued their impressive form with a comprehensive 5-0 friendly win over a weakened Hereford side.
With Michele Petrie and Lindsey Aldridge doing well in the Tenbury defence, Hereford's scoring chances were limited and the city side fell behind when Tina Bickley drove in a cross from Sarah Nightingale.
Oli Linton added a second before the interval and then increased the advantage after the break following good work from Dawn Davies and Abi Thomas.
Kaylee Hurdiss produced a couple of fine saves as Hereford tried to hit back but the visitors drew away towards the end with further goals from Bickley and Linton, who competed her hat-trick with a powerful hit.
