HEREFORDSHIRE COUNCIL wants to spend millions on a new road leading only to the Rotherwas Estate from the south so that some very high lorries can get easier access.
How much better would the money be spent on flood defences for the city.
The criteria is that a new road would attract more business, but how many companies would want to come to a city which is regularly flooded? Once that problem has been solved it will be time to look at the road question again.
Everyone except our councillors agree what is really needed is a new bridge, or preferably two, which would benefit all - lorries, commuters, shoppers, visitors.
Why not use of the old Ross-Hereford rail track and not spoil the lovely green fields to he south. The piles of the old railway bridge are still standing.
